Hókahé…

“Welcome” to Tiospaye Ministries. Tiopsaye means “Extended Family” in the Lakota language.  The council and volunteers of Tiospaye Ministries bring the hope and love of Creator to the American Indian community by fulfilling the Great Commission.  We come alongside the American Indian community and work with them through hardships, darkness, and sense of hopelessness after being pushed aside for so long.

Life below the nation’s socioeconomic standard is devastating and often dangerous.  Many American Indians are struggling for their very survival.  Every social condition facing the dominant society is compounded exponentially among American Indians.  Alcoholism is the leading killer of American Indians and the suicide rates are as much a five times higher than the U.S. national average.  These conditions lead to feelings of neglect, loneliness, hopeless, and despair.
